February is here, January is finally over, and we can start looking forward to lighter, longer days!
We know Winter in the UK is not for the faint hearted. The grey skies and rainy days seem to be never ending, so we have been looking for ways to fight off the Winter blues and kickstart February in the best way possible.

Make the most of Nature! It is easy to get lost in the hustle and bustle of the city, surrounded by big corporate buildings and grey streets, but even amongst all the concrete, London is home to some really beautiful green open spaces ready to explore. Taking some time out of your usual day to day activities to visit parks and connect with nature is a great way to boost both mental and physical health. Listen to a podcast, or some feel good music and take some time for yourself!
Primrose Hill is a must see. A perfect view of where nature meets the city. Wrap up warm, take an umbrella for any unexpected (or expected!) showers and immerse yourself in the fresh open air. Why not try to catch the sunset or the sunrise? |

Break a sweat! It doesn't have to be January 1st to start exercising and you definitely don't have to complete a hardcore workout to reap the rewards of movement! Something as simple as a 10-minute YouTube fitness session, or dancing around your kitchen can do the trick. We spend so much time sitting in front of our computers or televisions, that we just forget to move! Make sure to boost your endorphins with some daily bursts of exercise in whatever form it may be.
Our gym is always open! If you are interested to start your fitness journey, contact us to book in your slot. Look for Good News!In a world where negative news is king, it is easy to forget that good exists. The media only broadcasts what is going wrong, showing disaster after disaster, but if you look beyond the screen, there is so much to smile about! Look for something good every day and use the power of Google to find positive news stories and restore your faith in humanity!
Our most recent favourite feel good story comes from a 6 year old boy pledging to climb 12 mountains, raising money to give children in a local hospice a holiday. Read the full story using the link!

Practice Self CareSometimes we just need to sit back from every day life and take some time to relax.
The Danish concept of 'Hygge' (roughly translating to cosiness), is a great way to achieve a sense of self care in your every day life. The idea is to surround yourself with comforting things, like wearing big woolly socks, wrapping up in a blanket and even using soft lighting, like fairy lights, to make a peaceful atmosphere at home. You can further feed your soul by inviting friends or family over to enjoy the winter nights with good food and company!
If your perfect idea of self care is to treat yourself to a bit of beauty therapy, why not take a trip into our partnered salon, Inanch? Whether it be hair or skincare, Inanch is the best one-stop-shop for all things pamper! Don't forget to mention your Armitage residency upon booking to claim your exclusive discount! |
